This notice supplements our Privacy & Security Policy and sets out additional rights for individuals in the European Union / European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and the State of California.
For individuals in the EU / EEA / UK (GDPR & UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request erasure (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances;
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing are described in our Privacy & Security Policy. Where we transfer data outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
- Request access to the specific pieces of personal information we hold;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We collect the categories of information described in our Privacy & Security Policy (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and billing information) for the business purposes described there.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or CPRA, email us at hello@vaconnect.co.za with the nature of your request. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law. You may use an authorised agent where the law permits.
